Canadian Journey Series $5 Note
The $5 note, issued in March 2002, was the second in the series. The face features a portrait of Sir Wilfrid Laurier produced by the noted Swedish engraver Czeslaw Slania and a vignette of the West Block of the Parliament Buildings.

Frontiers Series $20 Note
The Frontiers series $20 bill features a new portrait of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. The vignette on the back is the Canadian National Vimy Memorial located on the site of the 1917 Battle of Vimy Ridge in northern France.

The central vignette on the back of the note depicts the Canadian, the VIA Rail passenger train that runs from Toronto to Vancouver.

Museum Reconstruction - Part 3
Though naturally we are aware that the former Museum space is being gutted, the reality of seeing it empty is still pretty strange for most of us here. In the last blog of this series we showed you the empty cafeteria space that will become the new Museum, as well as some images of the old Museum as it was at the time: stuffed with odds and ends of exhibit cases, the occasional display still on the walls.

Birds of Canada Series $1000 Note

Birds of Canada Series $100 Note
The second note to feature the optical security device was the $100 note, printed by British American Bank Note Company issued in December 1990.
