Code of conduct

The Bank of Canada Museum is a welcoming and inclusive space. Please observe a few house rules while visiting the Museum so all visitors can feel safe and comfortable.

Be considerate of other visitors:

  • Visitors will be requested to leave if they: behave in an abusive, disruptive or offensive manner; use threatening language or behaviour; or are suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times.
  • Food and drink are not permitted in the exhibitions.
  • Animals are not permitted in the Museum, with the exception of service animals.
  • Visitors must not lean on display cases or touch artifacts on display.
  • Photography is permitted for personal use only with handheld equipment.
  • Smoking and vaping of any kind is prohibited in the Museum or on the Bank of Canada Plaza.
  • Large backpacks are not permitted in the exhibitions.
  • Scooters, skateboards and in-line skates are not permitted in the exhibitions, with the exception of mobility scooters.
  • The Museum strictly prohibits any actions or symbols associated with current or historical hate groups within its premises.
  • In the event of any emergency, please listen to Bank of Canada or Museum staff who will provide instructions for visitors to follow.
For everyone’s health and safety, visitors must follow the Museum’s COVID-19 protocols.
