February 1–2: Making “sense” of money

Money wasn’t always all bank notes and coins. Experience a wealth of currencies from around the world in forms you’ve never imagined—even edible ones. Guess what it is. Guess how it was used. Guess where it’s from. You’ll need all your senses for this fun, interactive family game.
For the entire family, 10:00 to 16:30

February 8–9: Love token workshop

What’s a love token? It’s a souvenir made from a coin. Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, so take our love token workshop and create your own personal message—in coin form—for whomever you like. Then learn more about the rituals and curious uses we have for money with a tour of our Luck and Lore exhibition.
10 years and up with adult supervision. Space is limited. 13:00 to 16:30

February 15–17: The Museum’s Winter Carnival (Open on Family Day!)

Welcome to our Winter Carnival. Come on in where it’s warm and enjoy lots of family fun. Make an origami case for a lucky coin. Borrow a detective tool kit for an artifact scavenger hunt. Do some colouring. Or take a fun selfie with accessories. We even have a beanbag toss—but you need to hit the 2 percent inflation target to win.
For the entire family, 10:00 to 16:30
