The first day of the conference was for full and half-day workshops. I was up dull and early that rainy morning, swallowed a breakfast sandwich at Timmie’s, consulted my program guide and headed to my first seminar.
27 June 2016 Repairing Steel DiesBefore they were to be placed in collection storage, these broken dies were evaluated for further conservation treatment. Ultimately, the decision was made to repair the breaks.
15 June 2016 New Acquisitions
In May 2013, staff of the Bank of Canada Museum visited BABN and were able to select for the National Currency Collection more than 650 steel dies (small, engraved metal or “intaglio” plates) and other production tools formerly used by the company to prepare the intaglio printing plates.
31 May 2016 The Photography Show 2016I once called up a former colleague, a photographer who had been retired for a few years. I asked him how he was getting on. He said, “Pretty good and still learning photography.”
Closed for Renovation
The Bank of Canada Museum is currently closed to the public and will reopen in 2017.
